Raelynn Autumn Calleway stood on the balcony of her apartment as the wind swirled around her, trying to push in an evening rain storm. The night was starting out clear with a bright moon, but that might soon change if the wind kept blowing clouds in. Her brother, Michael, usually stopped by around this time of night, before he headed off to work. The siblings were very close and talked often, Michael always made a point to stop by and check on her and if he couldn't he would send one of the other members of the Vampire High Brotherhood to check on her, usually it was Skool. She had met all of the members and their females. The Brotherhood had all taken her in as part of their family and helped her get her own apartment.
It was through Skool that she'd gotten this place and he had set up all her security stuff. They all treated her like they were her brothers and not only because she was related to Michael. Over protective brothers every one of them. Though there was only one she had not met yet, Alex Fierro. She'd caught glimpses of him from time to time but never met him face to face, no official introductions between them... yet. She hoped to met him soon, there was something about the fierce looking Brother that drew her to him, made her want to get to know him and take away that pained look on his face she caught glimpses of the few times she'd seen him.
Michael's birthday was coming up and she wanted to suggest a little party, secretly hoping to get the opertunity to meet Alex. It would only be fair seeing as how she'd met all the others. Alex seemed to keep to himself more than anything else, she'd tried at least once to speak to him in passing but he just gave a little grunt, barely even looking at her and moved on as if there was some important task he had to take care of that took all his attention. Which he probably did. Raelynn couldn't help but wonder if he didn't feel that pull that she seemed to always feel whenever he was close. Yes, she HAD to talk to Michael about having a party at the mansion where the King and Queen lived with the VHB, she had to meet Alex, officially.

Micheal knocked on the door to Raelynn's place. It had been a tough week and it didn't seem to be easing up at all. He took off his helmet and ran a hand through his hair He straightened out his leather jacket and looked around as he waited for her to answer. He wasn't in a rush he had always just hated waiting in hallways. He knocked again and shuffled a bit. "Hay there sis how's it going?" he asked as she finally let him in. "I would have called but you know me that's not really my style" he says giving her a hug, his after shave and cologne strong along with leather. Raelynn |

Raelynn moved to the door in quiet, yet quick, fluid steps and opened the door knowing full well it was her big brother on the other side of it. More the bond between them than his scent, though she did love her brother's unique scent it was a comforting fragrance that let her know all was well in her world. She smiled at him warmly as she opened the door and gave him a huge embrace as soon as he stepped through the door. "Hi Mikey, I am so glad you're here, finally." she took his hand and guided him into the kitchen where she poured him some of his favorite drink, she always kept some on hand for him, "Are you in a rush or do you have time to talk for a bit? I wanted to discuss your birthday." she asked as she put his drink in front of him and then turned to make herself some hot chocolate. Michael Calleway |

Michael took the beer grateful she always had a stock for him. "I have about 2 hours. Do you mind if Alex comes over I need to swap rides with him for work." He asked rubbing his neck and sitting on the stool and putting his helmet on the counter next to him. "What about my birthday?" He asked raising a brow. He wasn't the type to normally celebrate his birthday. The only way he did is when Raelynn was around and it was only cause of her he even remembered it at all. "Don't tell me you still want to celebrate it. Aren't we a bit to old for that?" He asked half joking. Raelynn |

Raelynn nearly dropped her cup as she went to turn back to the table and he asked about Alex dropping by, but she quickly recovered, cleared her throat, took a sip of her drink after nodding. She swallowed the liquid and said, "Sure. The more the merrier. You realize he's the only one I haven't officially met don't you." she reminded him as she sat down opposite her brother to discuss his birthday. "I know you don't like to celebrate it but I do. And I want to celebrate it with you and your, our new family. For so long it's just been you and me now we've got everyone at the mansion. Do you think Raven and Jarico will let us have a birthday party there?" she dove right in with her suggestion. Michael Calleway |

Michael texted Alex the address and told him to meet him. "Well better late then never right. Now don't get to mad if he doesn't talk to you he's a bit on the solitude side." He says with warning to him. Remembering a few times when he was focused on school and she thought he was mad at her and cried.
He thought for a moment and went with his better judgment instead of arguing it over. "you're going to have to talk to Queen Bee yourself" he says "if she approves then we will have a party if not then can we drop it?" He asked knowing she wouldn't drop the party idea. She has always come up with ways to celebrate his day even. In many ways he felt special she cared that much but he would never tell her that. He took a swig of his beer.

"Oh come on Mikey the only time I got mad was when you promised me a day just for us to hang out and then forgot all about it and drowned yourself in school stuff and ignored me. But we were kids and I am not as dumb now as I was then." there was a teasing note to her tone and then she got serious again, "Trust me Mike, I did notice his solitude." there was a trace of sadness and empathy in her voice now and deep inside her she ached for Alex's sake, for the hurt and sadness she picked up from him when she had been around him briefly. A laugh slipped out, "No, we can't drop it. I'll just find another place to have your party. Hmm I know how bout a strip club. Yes, that's it we'll have it at a gay strip club if we can't have it at the mansion." she just had to give him a hard time. Though she really hoped the king and queen would approve of them having a family birthday party with them at the mansion. She tried not to show how much the prospect of a proper meeting and introduction to Alex meant to her or how excited she was to have him in her house. Michael shook his head and chuckled "Leave it to you to remember things like that" He says shaking his head and taking another swig. "So anything new with you that I need to know?" he asked as he say there. He ran his hand through his hair and looked at her "Besides I made up for it with the dance didn't I." he added in with a smirk.
"I'd rather not go to the strip club unless Cassandra is working then I might have to take her for a ride. Can't we just do what we normally do, watch a movie and camp out in the living room?" he says jokingly as he gave her a hard time back knowing she didn't care for his sex life. He pulled out his phone as it buzzed saying Alex was coming up.

Raelynn just grinned at him and took a long drink of her hot chocolate, she lowered it slowly when he asked if there was anything new going on with her. There was but she wasn't sure if she should tell him or not. It could be nothing, but then again it could be something. She chose not to say anything yet and wait it out to see if her instincts screamed at her in warning. Plus he saved her from the turmoil of whether or not to say anything when he reminded her of the dance. It had been sophomore homecoming and the guy she was supposed to go with dumped her for the new girl who happened to be a blonde and more curvy than her. She'd been heartbroken and refused to go to the dance until Michael had stepped in. "Yes, yes you sure did." she said with a warm smile on her lips as she remembered the event. "No we can't just sit around and watch movies. We are going to have fun." Raelynn said with a grin and playful swat to his arm ignoring the comment about the strip club. She heard his phone buzz and quirked a brow at him. Michael Calleway |

Alex and Michael had been close ever since they found out about each other. Most of the time people wondered if they were brothers and once upon a time they played as if they were during their travels. They even had the same jobs just different shifts so they could use the same cars and motorcycle. When he was getting off work Michael was going to work and they did a meet and swap. After getting a text to meet him at Raelynn's place he texted back and started the process to getting off of work.
Soon he arrived there at the place and walked up to the apartment stealthily. He knocked on the door and licked his lips noting his surroundings and the door. He wondered a bit on how safe these apartments really were for people from the looks of the place it had a slumlord. He shook his head a bit he couldn't say anything his place looked like a bunch of squatters lived there and it wasn't because of him it was the previous tenants and he was slowly cleaning it up.

Micheal was about to protest when the knock on the door came about. "Ah that's got to be Alex." He says getting up and heading to the door with Raelynn behind him. He opens the door and gives Alex a greeting hug with a handshake. "Want a beer? Rae do you mind if he has one?" he asked offering and looked at Raelynn "Oh wait first Alex meet my sister Raelynn, Raelynn this is Alex." he says with a smirk as they stood side by side. They where the same height with Alex being a bit slimmer then Micheal. They were roughly around the same age and could be brothers if you didn't know any better.

Raelynn smiled, "Hello. Come on in. Of course, the beer is for sharing, I can always get more." her smile to Alex was warm and welcoming and she held out her hand to him, "I am glad to finally meet you, Alex." she said hoping her smile and tone were friendly enough without being overly friendly and coming off fake. Internally she was jumping and shouting with joy that finally she was getting to meet him. And the pull was even stronger standing this close to him. Noticing the resemblance, though very slight, she was amazed at how much they looked like brothers and for a moment was worried that she had a crush on another of her blood relations, then shook it off. No the kind of pull and vibe she got around Alex was not one she would have with a sibling. Her bond with Michael was the kind a little sister shared with a big brother. Just as they were all getting along well Michael's phone rang and it was his boss. "Are you sure? Yeah I'll be there soon" He says on the phone before hanging up "Glad your here man look enjoy a drink Rae doesn't mind at all but boss needs me so I got to run." He then looked at Raelynn "Forgive me sis but I got to run." He says giving her a hug and a kiss on the forehead "I'll make it up next time" he says sadly before he dashed out the door.

Alex came in and as he was introduced to Raelynn he licked his lips and looked her up and down before lifting a brow as Micheal seemed to keep talking and took the keys from him. As Michael went out the door Alex face went confused and he looked back at Raelynn. "I take it he always rushes off when he visits" he says in a deep seductive without trying tone. His jaw clenched a bit. "I wouldn't mind a beer but understand if you don't want me here he's gone so you don't have to play nice if you don't want to" he says his eyes looking her up and down again and then locking with hers. He felt his wolf giving a growl deep within and it made him stiffen up a bit. If he was smart he'd get out of here but there was something about her that told him he didn't want to go.

Raelynn watched her brother with shocked eyes as he rushed off and then she started laughing, "No, not usually, he's just trying to get out of discussing his birthday plans." she said with a shake of her head, firmly closing and locking the door, more out of habit than trying to keep Alex in though she'd love to keep him all to herself if she was honest with herself. She started to lead the way into the kitchen when his next words stopped her in her tracks, "You are welcome here anytime, Alex. I'll be honest with you. I've wanted to meet you since I first saw you at the mansion. So unless you have somewhere you'd rather be or somewhere you need to be I don't mind 'playing nice' as you put it." Raelynn was straight up honest and her smile was bright and sincere. She moved into the kitchen got out a beer for Alex and popped a top on her own, even though she wasn't such a big fan of the junk she did have one, every once in a while. Alex Fierro |
