"oh yeah, the water's wonderful." Sarah said, even though she couldn't have told you what temperature it was for a million dollars right now. Her entire brain was 50% focused on Jay, and the other half was just stressing itself in circles about said focus. She was so close, so pretty. Sarah wanted to kiss her more then anything else on earth. She'd been desperately wanting to kiss Jay for the last six months but it was usually a lot easier to keep her feelings in check. The fact Jay was in a bikini and blushing and.. well... she'd reached boiling point was the point.

Before she'd thought through what she was doing, Sarah reached out with both hands, ever so gently brushing Jay's hair back and cupping her cheeks. "See? perfectly framed." it came out as a whisper. Sarah leaned in close, so close their noses connected, meaning, needing, to kiss her and-

Sarah's nerve broke. Suddenly convinced she'd imagined or misinterpreted every single sign Jay had been giving her. Sarah had so many issues with her self-worth that it was easier to believe after ALL OF THIS that Jay had just been being nice, then it was to believe someone liked her back. Sarah broke away like she'd been burned and was suddenly on the other side of the Hot Tub, her expression making it obvious she was close to tears. "Sorry! sorry, Jay i'm so sorry. I didn't mean..... I shouldn't have...." Sarah babbled, not knowing what to do or how on earth she was meant to cover this up, all the while her brain screaming at her that Jay'd hate her now, be disgusted and a hundred other lies...

Sarah had never hyperventilated before but she was starting to think this was her being close as her heart made escape attempts against her rib cage. The instruction to breath came as a godsend, a little foothold of sense for her to cling to and make her focus on something other then her stupidity. She looked at Jay, meeting her eyes and almost melting into them. it would be so easy to hug her, and so very tempting, but Sarah held herself back.

"I... just..." Sarah whimpered, feeling her eyes mist up. "i'm bi. obviously. I mean not obviously, obviously, you're the first person I've told but I mean because I wanted to kiss you- WANT to kiss you... but..." Sarah was aware she was rambling uselessly but she was an emotional wreck and now she'd started she couldn't stop herself. "but... you're one of my best friends and.... I don't want to loose you. because there's no way it's not wishful thinking.... but..." she took a shuddering breath, feeling utterly terrified but there was no other way to explain herself. "I.. thought you like me back..." even now, looking in Jay's eyes Sarah winced expecting rejection.

And with a screeching, triumphant, clash every doubt and stress she had was burned instantly to ash by Jay's kiss. Sarah reacted as half a year of pent up emotions will do, hungrily kissing Jay back and finally, FINALLY, getting to just put her arms around her best friend and feel how perfect it was to hold and be held by her. Jay was stronger then her, in better shape and Sarah couldn't deny she liked the slight tone to the other girls arms.

Sarah broke for air with a gasp, listening to Jay's words... somehow the girl gave her a better emotional rush then even the kiss. She'd said Jays name. In her sleep?!?! Sarah stared at her, gobsmacked, "....I." What on earth did you even say to that. Wait. "you knew I liked you since THEN and you didn't make a move?" Despite everything Sarah managed to laugh in incredulity. but it faded when she realised how much she'd needed to hear that last part. "o-ok. Then..." testing the waters, wanting to get her turn to start a kiss, she gave Jay one quick, soft peck on the lips. "Then I guess.... if I can call you my girlfriend i'll promise you won't loose me either. Sound good?"

"remind me to buy Jeremiah lunch or something then." Sarah said with a weak laugh. Ok so that was ONE person's reaction she didn't have to worry about.

No, she'd worry about that another day, she wasn't gonna let thoughts of her parent ruin this moment for her.  "I promise I never meant to push you away, whatever I was doing at the time was probably me being an idiot. She couldn't think of moments Jay was referring to, but had no doubt she'd managed to ruin such things through her own self-loathing with ease. She wished so badly she wasn't like this, but hey. Jay liked her. So she couldn't be completely hopeless right? 

"your girlfriend." Sarah said softly, lowing her head enough to gently kiss Jay's shoulder before resting her head on the spot and just hugging her tightly. "Best thing I've ever been called in my life."  she sighed in utter contented bliss and ran her fingers along the closest of Jay's muscles. "...I know I was crying like seconds ago. But I don't remember ever being this happy before."

Sarah was beaming by this point, "That's a plan, but i'm paying half's for the board no matter what you say." She teased, only going more red at hearing most of their social circle had been rooting for them. but it was a good kind of embarrassed, one that made her grow a massive goofy smile at the thought, suddenly looking forward to Monday just as much. Suddenly she giggled as a thought occurred to her. "I think I just felt shy about holding hands when we're in THIS position. my priorities I swear." Of course it was more about making it official and known that had made butterflies poke around in her stomach in all the best ways.

"Yeah. you're so right, it was all worth it if it led here." Sarah agreed softly, leaning into Jay's touch. This was really happening, they were a couple. That meant doing things like dates and doing things together and- Sarah's heart skipped a beat when Jay so casually described wanting to... why and how was this girl so hot? "..w-well... now you can whenever you want right?" Sarah said, trying to sound smooth and failing. Luckily Jay had the perfect distraction at hand and Sarah let out a low, but eager, whimper as they kissed properly, Sarah daring to slide her arms below the water to slide around Jay's waist as they went. "you're so much better then my daydreams of you." she whispered in the first short moment they broke for air.

Sarah found herself giggling at imagining that being the way Jerimiah got to find out about them. "I can't WAIT to see his face." she said, sighing contently as she leaned into Jay's gentle touches. "I'm only shy because it's so new!" she protested weakly, knowing Jay didn't mean anything bad by it. "Sooo we have to have some practice in like- Woah!" Her words were cut off with a surprised squeak as she was moved onto Jay's lap, not expecting that but oh so faaaaar from complaining. "never mind. this is better." Sarah agreed, still blushing madly but now smiling like an idiot.

listening to the way Jay described her, Sarah put her arms around Jay's neck and nuzzled into her the best she could, feeling an overwhelming happiness to it all. "Good choice! you're way more comfortable then the hot tub." she said, before placing a gentle caring kiss on Jay's cheek. "and you're you. any dream I came up with pales in comparison." That might have been paraphrased from a lovestory she'd read once, that kind of smoothness was not something she'd have been able to think up in the moment if she'd had an hour to think.

This was heaven. Absolute heaven and perfection and... and Sarah couldn't bare the idea of this ending. She considered her options and swallowed. Sarah knew exactly what she wanted to ask but her nerves were playing on her. "....it's a Friday right?" She said quietly, giving Jay another small kiss to booster her own confidence. "I... I am never going to be able to focus on Maths for a second tonight...." Sarah had to take a breath before saying what was on her mind, worried she was going to be too forward or too fast, or even now, utterly illogically, worried of being turned down even if there was no logic on the earth that could see that as happening. "if... if I text my Mom and...." it was so weird, wanting to ask something she'd done more then a dozen times suddenly carrying so much new weight and meaning that scared the hell out of her. "...and tell her I was invited to... can... can I stay with you tonight?" Sarah's voice had gotten softer and softer until it was little more then a needy whisper in Jay's ear. "please?"
